Jackson, Jackson, JACKSON!!!

So, since it "snowed" in our house and Jackson felt that it was so cold, he hasn't been interested at all in going out to play in the snow.  And, I haven't made him...I'm no dummy!  Well, today at church, a friend of mine shared with me that Jackson told her that he hadn't been out to play in it because Mommy wouldn't let him, she said he couldn't.  Hmmm...not how I remember it at all!

So, I asked him about it again this afternoon, and he still didn't want to go out.  And after talking to him for a bit...I found out why:

Mommy: Why don't you want to play out in the snow?  It's fun!
Jackson: I don't want to get lost!
Mommy: Lost? You won't get lost!  You'll just play in the backyard.  It will be fine!
Jackson: But when it was snowing, the weatherman said that kids couldn't play in it because they would get lost and you wouldn't be able to find us!

**Clarification:  The weatherman did say not to send your kids out the day that it was blowing snow 50 mph...because of the white-out conditions, kids could get lost and stuck in drifts and you wouldn't be able to see them!!!

Mommy: OH!!  Well, it is through snowing now and a lot of it has melted, so I'm pretty sure you won't get lost and you'll have a whole lot of fun playing in the snow!

And, have fun...well, that's an understatement!!

And for tonight's parting shot...

Jackson decided to be independent in the bathroom this afternoon.
He decided he needed a "little bit of 'too-let' paper".
This roll of toilet paper was brand new, just put it on the roll
'bout an hour before this incident!!
Guess who got to clean it all up??  NOT Mommy!
Teachable moment, yes, a VERY teachable moment!!!
