**aside** One of the new things Jackson got at our first Christmas gathering was a new DVD called I Am Special. And, since we were snowed in on Christmas Eve, and I didn't know what else to do to keep him entertained...he kind of ended up watching this 30 minute video a few times. Maybe 10 times. Maybe 15...I don't know, I lost count. Anyway, needless to say, he loves this new movie. It's a story by Max Lucado about self-esteem. I decided it was a fine movie to fall in love with, if he had to fall in love with something!
Anyway, back to waking up on Christmas morning:
Jackson: Mommy, can I go watch my 'I Am 'Pecial' movie?
Mommy: Well, do you know what today is?
Jackson: Oh, yeah, mom, I do. It's Christmas morning. Can I watch my movie now?
Mommy: Well, you can't go in the living room right now, your Christmas surprises are already in there! So, maybe you can watch your movie later?
Jackson: Please, Mommy, you're gonna feed Katie and I want to watch my movie. I really like that movie.
So, I let him snuggle on my bed and watch the movie while I was feeding Katie.
And when the movie was over...I expected running into the living room for Christmas surprises. Nope!
Mommy: Jackson, is your movie over?
Jacson: Yes, it was over, but I pushed the circle button and I'm watching it again.
I think we were probably the only family in OKC with children under 12 that opened our presents after 10:30 am on Christmas day!! HA!!
When we finally got to open presents, of course, the trampoline was a hit. A HUGE hit. Best Christmas present I ever bought, I'm pretty sure!
A rocket blaster!!
